About Us

Established in 1970, the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) is a non-profit, professional membership organization representing over 100,000 Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduates in 39 chapters around the country and more than 6,500 members. The organization encompasses business professionals, entrepreneurs, as well as, graduate and undergraduate students and those with advanced degrees in other fields. The NBMBAA is headquartered in Chicago, IL and has formed strategic partnerships with the nation’s top Fortune 500 business companies and corporations, private and public sector organizations, colleges and universities. Dedicated to creating partnerships that increase intellectual wealth and economic vitality in the Black community, the organization operates around the following five cornerstones:

§ Education

§ Career

§ Leadership

§ Entrepreneurship

§ Lifestyle

In partnership with over 400 of the country’s top business organizations, the association has inroads into a wide range of industries as well as the public and private sector. Yet all of NBMBAA’s partners have one thing in common – they are all committed to the organization’s goals and values.

The organization gains its strength from a strong belief in community and a commitment to its development through economic and educational development initiatives that support the global Black community.

The mission statement : As a professional membership organization of Black graduates with MBAs, advanced degrees, and entrepreneurs, the mission of the NBMBAA is to increase the number as well as the diversity of successful Blacks in the business community by:

§ Providing innovative programs to stimulate their intellectual and economic growth.

§ Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth.

§ Increasing awareness and facilitating access to graduate management education programs and career opportunities in management fields.

§ Developing the pipeline of youth by providing a framework to deploy business practices.

The vision of the NBMBAA is to be an organization which leads in the creation of economic and intellectual wealth for Blacks.

Founded in 1979, NBMBAA-San Francisco Chapter maintains the same organizational vision set forth by our National founders, and serves Black business professionals, MBA students, and entrepreneurs in the Northern California region. Our members are community leaders and professionals who embrace the mission of the association, and strive to make a difference within their area of influence.

For our chapter, the achievements of our relatively mature group of members demonstrate our strength. We are proud that a percentage of our members work in business administration, financial Services, manufacturing, advertising and marketing management positions.

We welcome your participation and support. Please feel free to contact us, at sfblackmba.notices@gmail.com if you have questions or would like more information about our chapter and organization.
